Is located on the Aegean coast and is the third largest city in Turkey. Its port is the second largest in Asia Minor after Istanbul.
The Turks called Beautiful Izmir for its abundant beauties among which include mosques in the seventeenth, nineteenth and twentieth Pullmantur Cruises has chosen this destination for our cruise Greek Islands and Turkey. Great part of the city was destroyed by fire in 1922 but retained many mosques and churches and beautiful old houses that overlook narrow streets. Smyrna has one of the seven churches of Apocalypse, the Church of St. Polycarp. For an angle other than the city has a cable car that climbs 420m above sea level, offering a panoramic view of the surroundings and the Aegean Sea, almost always sunny, in all its fullness. This is a city of beautiful beaches where you can enjoy water sports or sunbathing.
Izmir is considered, despite its rich history as the most modern and westernized city of Turkey.
