Wrap yourself in one of the most spectacular places in the world, Stavanger. It is located in the southwest of Norway and it is the fourth largest city, with 123,000 inhabitants approximately, due to its oil industry and the great activity plays of its fishing port. The Stavanger region was named the European Capital of Culture in 2008, where it was created the concept of Open Port, a port open to everyone to encourage people to be more open and more receptive with others through art. Near Lysefjord you can visit the Pulpit, where the fjord is admired in all its splendour. Other interesting place is the Kjeragbolten, a huge stone of 5m high which is located between two big rocks from where you can take a beautiful snapshot.
You can also visit the waterfall Månafossen with 92m of free fall, the ninth highest waterfall in Norway. The Stavanger region offers splendid fjords and majestic mountains, as would as spectacular beaches. The temperatures are mild throughout the year because of its oceanic climate.
Stavanger Cathedral is the oldest in Norway, and is next to Lake Breivatnet in the center of the city. Stavanger has got a lot of museums to visit such as the Archaeological Museum in Stavanger, the Norwegian Tele Museum, the Rogaland Art Museum, the Norwegian Petroleum Museum or the Maritime Museum in Stavanger.
